vACCINATION rOLLOUT CAMPAIGN
While many people think vaccinations are fully accessible to everyone who’s eligible for it, the reality is there are still many gaps in our system that leave out working-class families who don’t have internet or technology, Black, Indigenous, and People of color, immigrants, and refugees with language barriers, and more. Our ward has the lowest vaccination rate in Saint Paul with only 64% of eligible people being vaccinated while most wards are on their way to 80%.
We believe in a system rooted in care and equity for all people and a system that puts people first. There should be no barriers to getting vaccinated. In the grassroots organizing we’ve done, we know that the best way to get communities left out of the system is to go directly to them. That’s why we’re raising $30,000 to launch a vaccination rollout campaign where our team will phonebank, doorknock, and host vaccination sites to get over 80% of our community members vaccinated.

VOTE YES FOR RENT STABILIZATION CAMPAIGN
Team Nelsie joined the Housing Equity Now Saint Paul Coalition to fight for the renters of Ward 6 and Saint Paul because we’re clear that in a city where rent is increasing, housing displacement is on the rise, and we’re a growing city of renters, working-class families, and young people, we must create policies that protect renters and ensure dignified and sustainable housing for everyone. We have an opportunity in this year’s election to pass a rent stabilization policy bringing power back to our community!
Rent stabilization is a proven policy that protects tenants from unreasonable rent spikes, accounts for the operating expenses of landlords, and is cost-effective for our city and taxpayers. Now is the time to join together — across race and residence — to rewrite the rules so that they are fair and just. Over 9,000 Saint Paul voters signed a petition to put rent stabilization on the ballot this year. What next? VOTE YES for rent stabilization on or before Election Day November 2, 2021, to pass a policy ensuring rent doesn’t increase more than 3% annually in the City of Saint Paul.
